My Work

What I do…

My main focus is responsible and ethical practices in public history, and I have worked in memorialization, historic preservation, museum studies, archival administration, and cultural resource management. I provide no specific rates or a price list. Every project is unique. If you want to discuss a project, please tell me about it on the Mt. Zion Memorial Fund’s Online Portal HERE. I normally respond to submissions within 24 hours except weekends and holidays.

My Resume

Historic Preservation

The erasure of African American history is prevalent across the nation, and the structures associated with Blues communities remain some of the most endangered…

Archival Administration

The dearth of processed and digitized archival collections at HBCUs demonstrate the negative effects of racial segregation…

Museum Studies

Featuring diverse collections of sculpture and horticulture, cemeteries function as outdoor history museums, but too often they are not managed or promoted in ways that ensure their long-term preservation.

Cultural Resource Management (CRM)

CRM is a process used to manage and make decisions about scarce cultural resources in an equitable manner. Also known as Heritage Management, it includes landscapes, archaeological sites, historical records, and spiritual places, among other things.
